What is this? Well…
When I went to Edinburgh last year, I met a lovely gentleman named Mike Gibb, a lyricist/playwright, who said that he’d fallen in love with OUTLANDER, and that he and his friend, composer Kevin Walsh, would like to do a song-cycle–a musical telling of the story in the form of 14 or 15 songs. (There’s a possibility that this song-cycle might eventually be the bones of a stage production, but for now, it’s just songs.)
So this is one of the songs. I’m going to put up a full-scale announcement on my website a little later this week, describing the project, and giving the address from which those interested can order a CD of the Whole Thing, and am planning to post this particular song with the announcement, as sort of a free sample. So I thought I’d try it out on you guys, first.

It's really beautiful. I have often tried to imagine Jamie, in his Scots accent, saying those words, and the recording is pure heaven. Kevin and Mike are terrific. Haunting and beautiful. Thank you for that taste of what I hope for us –and you too — another Outlander treat!

Ummm….it _is_ in one of the books. That's the "blood vow" Jamie and Claire take during their wedding in OUTLANDER. Or do you mean the Gaelic lyrics? I'll put those in the OUTLANDISH COMPANION, Vol. II.
The CD will be available for sale as of August 1. I'll put up the official announcement, with details, both on my website and here, in the next day or two.

I love celtic music and this is a lovely, evocative ballad. Not able to understand Gaelic, I liked that the Blood Vows were translated for us. Can't wait to lose myself in the cd. So romantic! _shivers_
Verra nice! (I know — wrong language, but my Scottish/English dictionary is in the other room.) Looking forward to adding this CD to my growing Scottish music collection. And it'll be a nice touch that it is inspired by one of my favorite books.
