OUTLANDER Prequel (Untitled)

Once the story of Jamie Fraser and Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser has come to an end, perhaps in Book Ten of OUTLANDER series of novels, will there be more?

Yes, Diana Gabaldon is planning a prequel! This new book will tell a story that occurred mostly before the events in OUTLANDER, her first novel. Diana has stated in interviews that the book will be the story of the parents of Jamie Fraser.

Merry Christmas, 2022… The First Excerpt!

Diana shared the first excerpt (aka “Daily Lines”) from this new prequel on December 25, 2022, which has the temporary title of “A Bird In The Hand.” This excerpt and future ones will be accessible by clicking on the temporary titles listed at upper right. Future excerpts will be added as they are posted, not the order they will appear in the new book.

When Will The OUTLANDER Prequel Be Finished?

As to when the OUTLANDER prequel will be published, look for it after the last major novel about Jamie and Claire has been released. (Likely Book Ten, which Diana is working on now.)

Diana hopes to write about other time travellers in future works as well… such as Master Raymond.
