ECHO is out–and the party’s at the BILTMORE!

Very exciting!

I’ll be back later with observations on Game Day [g], but wanted to let y’all know right away that the launch party for the book is tonight _at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel_, not at the Poisoned Pen bookstore. (The Pen is organizing the event and selling books, but they can’t possibly cram hundreds of people into the bookstore.)

Rosana, my webmistress, sent out an email this morning to the website subscribers, welcoming them to the party, but mistakenly ended it with “…at the Poisoned Pen.” I’m sure she’ll be sending out a quick PS shortly [g], but wanted to put in an early word here, since I don’t know when she’ll get my email about it.

Hope to see many of you in person, tonight and on the road–and I hope ALL of you will enjoy the new book! Thanks for buying it. [smile]

  1. Diana, it was a pleasure meeting you last night! Thank you for your time and taking care of everyone there. I'm guessing there were a few thousand that showed up. AND, last but not least my manners escaped my last night. You gave me a compliment and I failed to thank you. So, THANK YOU!

  2. listening to the unabridged tapes for the 3rd time!!! in preperation… can't wait!!

  3. I still have not received mine (groan amazon) But you have me very curious about the "I didn't see that one coming" moment, trying to figure out what could it possible be.. I will have to keep you posted…lol

  4. Got my copy yesterday but for some reason i keep taking breaks while reading it…i do not want it to end and then have to wait another 3 years for the next adventure.
    Sigh…so bittersweet!

  5. Echo time! I'm so pumped!

  6. I just finished the book…it was amazing! I'm a bit sad to be leaving Jamie, Clair, Ian, Rachel, Brianna, and Roger…you simply must be writing another book…there are so many cliff hangers!!! I will wait a few months and read all 7 again! Thank you so much for this book! I wasn't expecting another…now I expect at least one more! lol

  7. VERY UPSET- Initially told in NZ the Echo will be released today (24 Sept) but when I turned up was told that it won't be out till 28 Sept!!! sorely disappointed :( have to wait another 4days…

  8. Dear Diana,
The professor for my Africa Discovering Europe class had the nerve to schedule our library research for Tuesday night 5-8!!! It was horrible. I just sat and stared at the clock, imagining what was going on at the party. Lets just say my teacher kept getting the evil eye from me. Hopefully I will be at your event at Changing Hands in Tempe. Hope the party was hoppin.

    Love Leanne

  10. Several book stores in Calgary were already sold out yesterday!! I was feeling smug because my sister scooped me a copy at a store she found. I am looking forward to immersing myself in more stories and adventures of Claire, Jaime, Roger and Brianna, and other family and friends….
You are an awesome author, Diana. Many thanks for this exciting adventure!!

  11. Wish I had a copy – even with the offer to UK residents for a free trade copy it is going to be DAYS before I get one – and some of you have read it already!

Oh well, back to the ironing and re-listening to a Breath of Snow and Ashes – at least it makes the ironing bearable!

  12. Diana,

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I haven't even opened the book yet because I am relishing the anticipation. I want this moment to last as long as it can. The beginning. Thank you!

  13. I'm so excited about the newest Outlander book being out! I've been sitting at the hospital with my father for the last week and a half, and last night my hubby drove up and took me out for sushi and then to Barnes & Noble so I could get my copy. I've already started it and love it so far!!

  14. Dear Diana,

Very nicely done. I'm a few chapters into Echo & have already had a lightbulb moment. Whether I'm on the right track remains to be seen. :D

Well played. My hat goes off to you.

  15. Really enjoyed our trip from Chicago to be at the Party! My husband blushed a bit from the excerpt. Really admire your sense of humor and graciousness in the face of the hundreds of us waiting for your personalization. Your poor hand!

  16. I happened to be in Denver the other day (was visiting from another state) and was unable to make your book signing at the Tattered Cover. I was so hoping to be there to thank you. Hope it was a great signing!

  17. I was at Barnes and Noble when they opened the doors on Tuesday morning. I had preordered my copy and nearly caused the woman at the counter bodily injury when she told me I should come back the next day to get it. Suffice it to say I left with my copy in hand, lol. I basically havent done anything but read for the past 3 days. I just read the last sentence a half an hour ago and am sitting here in a bit of a stupor. I am actually kicking myself for being so eager, knowing how long I will have to wait for the next installment!

I thank you for these books and these characters. I was born about 200 miles from Culloden, my family are Protestant lowlanders, lol. You have encouraged me to learn the history not only of the country of my birth but also of the United States where I now reside. The only word I can use to describe my new found interest is obsession. I dont know that my family would thank you considering they have been eating take out all week. LOL!

  18. Very much enjoyed Echo! Thank you! Would love to hear Jamie's opinion on Voltaire's Candide since you had them dining together in Paris.

  19. Diana it was so wonderful to listen to you speak and "read" from your new book. We were all giggling like girls at the particular passage. :) Many thanks! We hope you'll come back to Lexington really soon.

  20. Just to say that I am delighted that my promised UK paperback arrived this morning! I have a long train trip to Scotland later in the week so will save it for then. I shall be staying with another Outlander fan who will be "gripped off" that I have a copy of the new book before her.
