Very exciting!
I’ll be back later with observations on Game Day [g], but wanted to let y’all know right away that the launch party for the book is tonight _at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel_, not at the Poisoned Pen bookstore. (The Pen is organizing the event and selling books, but they can’t possibly cram hundreds of people into the bookstore.)
Rosana, my webmistress, sent out an email this morning to the website subscribers, welcoming them to the party, but mistakenly ended it with “…at the Poisoned Pen.” I’m sure she’ll be sending out a quick PS shortly [g], but wanted to put in an early word here, since I don’t know when she’ll get my email about it.
Hope to see many of you in person, tonight and on the road–and I hope ALL of you will enjoy the new book! Thanks for buying it. [smile]
Finished Echo last night and regaled a very puzzled husband with my wails about a) cliff hangers and b) having to wait until the next book. LOL!
OMGoodness…I'm on tenterhooks about it all. My fingernails won't last the distance! So afraid for wee Jem.

im 223 pages in and i love it. LOVE IT. I read the first 6 books back to back. i nearly jumped out of my skin when i first read the name Dr. Weatherspoon. it made my day.

Well, people just kind of come and talk to me…but they talk much more easily if I'm paying attention to them. [g] And since my mind is so much focused on the milieu of the OUTLANDER books, it's easier for someone from that to catch my attention, as it were. Others _do_ talk to me, though–it's just a matter of time, as to when I can stop and listen intently to them.

The ECHO unabridged recording should be available within the next two weeks! Davina just finished making it last week (I only finished _writing_ the book about six weeks ago, which made it difficult for the Recorded Books people, I'm afraid). Can't wait to listen to it myself!

I know the difference between Thee and Thou. [g] Please read the Author's Note (in the back) regarding Quaker Plain Speech, ca. 1770. I can give you the scholarly references for that, if you like.
am delighted to hear that the divine Davina is again narrating the unabridged book – and I did expect that; she is a wonderful actress and so perfect for your books. In fact, when I've heard her narrate other books, I've had to stop and say wait, wait that's Claire, not Isobel Dalhousie (or whomever the character is) and readjust my perspective to the new character.
On another subject, I get so angry at the — albeit few here on this site — people who feel compelled to leave hurtful, arrogant, and just plain mean comments for you. If you're so upset by the direction an author takes with their own character, just don't read the book, or future books! I think it's that simple. But to leave a really mean or otherwise negative comment on a public site is just plain stupid. Well, I guess I figured out right there why they do it; they're just plain stupid! Poor things. Take a breath, Diana, pack some clean undies, and go out into the book-tour world and knock 'em dead. I met you at the tea in Flagstaff, and I know your incredibly open, friendly, and welcoming personality just runs right over those negativers. All the best!

just finished Echo today. tried to savor but about 1/2 way, began devouring. at some point today i think my husband became frustrated but i'm unsure and now that i've reached the finale, i will check in with him.
i am not looking forward to the wait for numero 8. how does everyone manage? i read Outlander in Feb of this year and was able to begin a new book in the series as soon as i'd finished the previous.
at this point, i think of Jamie & Claire as good friends and fully expect to miss them. have downloaded the audio versions of the books on audible to help with the pangs.

Loved it!!! I am just sorry there will not be a book before 3 years, but you enjoy your much earned and needed break. I just talked my husband into reading the series. There is just enough blood and violence in them for him to enjoy.
Wish you were coming to a city near me, or that I had the means to go to one that you are already going to, but… Just finished An Echo in the Bone and Oh, my. Laughing, crying, screaming (which freaked out my 6 year old little man). You never dissappoint.
