THE EXILE – Sample Script Page

This is what the script looked like, as I wrote it.   These pages would then be given to Hoang to do "pencil pages" (preliminary sketches).

THE EXILE

By Diana Gabaldon

CHAPTER 1:  Murtagh’s Oath

1-1  LS, a roiling sea under a louring sky.  RFG, a small kilted figure stands on a bleak cliff, leaning on a sword and looking out to sea.  In the far distance, a tiny ship is visible.

1-2  CU of Murtagh’s face, eyes squinted against the wind, dourly excited.

Murtagh:  Well, ye’ve taken long enough about it, lad!

1-3  Murtagh makes his way down a cliff path through rags of fog, head turned as he hears the barking of seals, OS.

Seals:  Oark!  Oark!

Murtagh:  Silkies!
