   Diana,

   Homer is very cute. My hubbie has had doxies since he was 12 (he's 54 now). We lost our precious Sam last August (gluttonous dog's will eat anything…even if it's bad!) She was the happiest dog I've ever seen. We got 2 new doxies right before Thanksgiving through the Dachshund rescue. Elvira (Elli) is a 3-year-old Black & Tan Smooth. When we got her she was underweight (11 lbs). She's now about 12 1/2 lbs. Morticia (Tish) is a 15-month-old Black and Tan mini (8 lbs) and she is absolutely full of P & V. They're wonderful companions but a bit on the stubborn side

   Love the books…anxiously awaiting Echo.

   Homer is adorable. He looks just like my mini doxie, who is at the moment smooshed up against my leg, with my daughter smooshed behind my back. I’m all smooshed. Typical mom eh?

   Diana — So glad that you are blogging; I have followed your career since Outlander’s original publishing, and now — in between your publishing — I can still have access to your prose! As a child, I had a smooth haired standard Dachsund kindly given to me from my parents for Christmas; Toby was curled up like a chocolate brown in the manger under the tree. Homer has the very gentle eyes typical of the breed –what is the orgin of the name? Was it the philosopher…or the animated series?

    I love the dead dog pose on the couch and of course, Homer curled up like a littly furry black comma looking at the camera. How adorable is he??!! Smooches to the puppy!
