After A BLESSING FOR A WARRIOR GOING OUT is finished, there will be at least one OUTLANDER series prequel novel. It will tell the story of Jamie Fraser‘s parents, Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie.

The title, at least temporarily, is A BIRD IN THE HAND.

When Will The first OUTLANDER Prequel Novel Be Finished?

In July, 2026, I am currently writing A BLESSING FOR A WARRIOR GOING OUT, Book Ten of my Outlander series of novels, my primary focus. Publication dates for BLESSING and A BIRD IN THE HAND will be announced after I finish writing each of them.

A BIRD IN THE HAND may eventually have two sequels—for a prequel trilogy. (And I’d like to write a Master Raymond novel at some point.)
