Donna,

Nowhere has Diana said that "rape is beautiful." And "Alice in Wonderland themes"? Makes me wonder what you might be smoking.

Diana has a Ph.D. in science, and uses her skills to do research for background and history of her books.

The correct title of Diana's blog you mentioned is "Pam's Ode to a Penis." Ode, as in a poem or song! Nowhere does her blog entry say that a woman named Pam has a penis. It is a funny poem giving silly advice to romance authors who use florid terms. That link including Diana's introduction is at:

Love the verbal sword play between Jamie and William who, it’s obvious has inherited his ability to hold his own from both parents. Leave it to Claire to pull their heads around to their task at hand too. Great little scene here.

Hi Diana,

I am a Scottish woman who has been living in Nz since 2013. I have only recently found your blog, which has been very informative.

I have not read any of your books but did watch the first series with my sister as our ancestry is the Fraser clan, so we found the history of your story interesting.

But I could not continue to watch as I found it very disturbing and not to my taste. However I am interested in some of the history, and wondered where do you get all your information and stories from? Are they all made up from your own personal experiences or from people you know?

I couldn’t understand what you meant by Pam’s Penis? (Pam is short for Pamela, Pam is a woman’s name, women don’t tend to have Penis’s) I’m not sure what your audience thinks of this, but its a little odd.

There are some points, or rather a lot of points in your blog that are very unclear to what you are referring too. You constantly say throughout your blog to read between the lines… or (cough) and that your audience are mentally capable of working out what it is you are actually communicating? Seams that there is another story behind it all.

You reference lot about poison or poisoning, octopuses, mad scientists, Easter eggs, gynocologists, Alice in wonderland themes and saying that rape is beautiful and more.

With all this how do you go about living your normal life? If your audience is to read between the lines and you reference on all of this, it’s a very dark place indeed.

Let the light in..

In most of my professional life, I was responsible for the editing of various documents. A habit hard to break, even when reading for pleasure. Too many of my eBooks have inserted pink highlights on various typos. Not one of your books had pink highlights until I bought the 20th Anniversary Edition of Outlander and, finally, there it was ... the first oops of your phenomenal editorial staff ... on page 94. "I shook my head. I could find no answers by thinking about it. Nothing was clear, except the fact that I would have [to] go back to the standing stones." Davina very nicely inserted it into the audiobook. Anxiously awaiting book 10.
