I am literally terrified of any snake and will not ever knowingly live with one near my home.

We have a female rat snake who tucks into the timbers under our house and occasionally lets the HVAC techs see her when they inspect equipment under house. She is a big girl, and I call her Ratatouille. Last Fall she entertained us by crawling btwn glass and screen of our living room window as she hunted bugs. I was fascinated as long as I was assured she couldn’t get in the house. Let’s hope she continues to play by the rules so I can glimpse her without freaking out. Your interest in the gopher snake makes me feel a little less weird about this, so Thank You.
