Years ago in the early nineties I was at a dinner with her in Texas after a book signing. There were about 20 women from an Outlander fan group around a long table at Macaroni grill. A pretty Dallas woman who was sitting right across from Diana said, dramatically and rather short of breath, “Oh, I just HATE that Black Jack Randall!” And babbled a bit about his evil.

Once it was quiet enough, I said, “Oh, really? You’re sitting in front of him.” Then Diana gave her a rather wicked grin. There was a wave of gasps through the group of women. A few laughed.

Diana’s major novels are huge, and take years to write and also to do the background historical and other research. Well worth the wait IMHO.
