I was so upset that the show left out the carvings! Who cares if it was going to messy! It was SUCH an emotional part of the book! I cried when I read it. I’ve heard rumors that they may do a flashback of it but I can’t imagine when or how they would work it in. Thank you so much for writing such wonderful books for us to love.

Ron Moore and Starz are the ones who decide which of my works will be in the TV show. Plus it all depends on ratings year to year whether the show will continue. Seasons 3 and 4 are confirmed. After that, it’s up to viewers!

I was very disappointed that they didn’t carve the initials in the show; to me, it was a key detail that should have been included. That scene was very hard for me to read because it was so incredibly gut-wrenching, and while the end was touching, it didn’t begin to make me feel the depth the scene in the novel did. I can’t wait for season 3, and I really, really can’t wait to read book 9!!

I am so glad I taped all last season. There have been several Saturdays the “girls” get together for an “Outlander” binge with wine and popcorn, always ending with us crying like babies. Even though we are diehard novel freaks, we appreciate the Starz version and love of the story. We are all counting days until next season. HURRY UP

I too, was disappointed that they changed the details of Claire’s escape, it was one of the scenes in the books that I always remember and I cried for them. There were so many scenes from he books that had me in tears or laughing out loud, much to the dismay of my husband who would just look at me like I was crazy as a loon when I cackled out loud! Cannot wait for book 9. Every new release makes me reread all the previous books as well so I can be refreshed on the details again before starting into the new ones. Also, love to listen to them on audible, as I have purchased them all so far. I travel a lot so Love to listen to them while driving! Thank you , Diana, for my absolutely MOST FAVORITE series of books EVER! I hope they never end!

Thank you for taking the step child out of redhead, for the enchanting characters, and read, a welcome diversion during stressful time in my family. I read the strand 35 years ago, and others equally alluring but shallow. Your Jamie a creation of kouros & claire kore breathing in words, the idealized male. such fun to read and watch your tales. The history & nature/botany well put and enjoyed.

Regardless of variance in translation a joy to watch.

Reading that excerpt, tears streaming down my face, I know I must read the books!!
What is the order of how they should be read?? I’ve seen a bunch of different books but I want it the way YOU intended it to go!
To think I wasn’t going to watch. I’m sure happy I took the plunge. Now I can’t get enough! I’m watching it from the beginning AGAIN!

Pam, I’m on Book 7 so I understand. I wondered what I’d do after reading Book 8 – I’ll start over with Book 1!

To everyone:
I’d forgotten the end of “Dragonfly in Amber” was when Jamie & Claire put their initial on each others hand. I do know there were many times Claire would look and/or feel the J on her in subsequent books. So I guess THAT’S out!

I understand TV scripts need to cut out things which happened in the book(s) but, dang, that was an important one! The reasoning just doesn’t seem true – this is a series in which every dollar is on the screen between costumes, locations, etc. Ronald was worried about blood getting on Claire’s costume? Really? Couldn’t Jamie have put Claire’s hand on a table and then used his knife? C’mon. Throw us a bone here!
