Dear Christi--

I _love_ "effeminate rodent"! And congratulations on writing what you want to write--I wish you all the best with it!

I go to a variety of writers conferences, but the only one I do every year is the Surrey International Writers Conference, in Surrey (reasonably enough [g]), British Columbia. It's a wonderful conference and I recommend it highly. Their website is www.siwc.ca, if you'd like to check them out.

    Best,

Dear Diana Gabaldon:

I have discovered your works and have consumed all but the last book in the Outlander Series since Thanksgiving--that is with a fulltime job of an English literature teacher (AP seniors), a mother of four, and a fellow author.

I am finally writing what I read--historical romance--even though I did publish in the YA fiction a books about a 11 year old male gymnast several years ago because, like you, I had a purpose. Mine was to write a book about a boy with real boys as characters who didn't reduce the protagonist to an effeminate rodent.

Now I am writing about the Restoration, where religious fanatacism and mysticism blur naturally.

Thanks for your inspiration.

Just wondered, are there any writers conferences you attend currently?

My website is for the book, with home-schooling parents my market so I didn't list it.
