I own a Kindle but can't buy for it either. "not available in your area". whether my Kindle is registered with Amazon or not. I live in Denmark. I can't download ebooks when I'm in the UK either.
Baen books lets anyone download to their Kindle, but Diana is with Random House...
Ask Random House to associate with Baen ebooks, Diana?

I applied for the free books as mentioned in this message. One day they just showed up on my doorstep. I've managed to find good homes for all of them and already have feedback from three friends who plan to read further in the Outlander series!

Diana...

USPS just delivered a box with 10 paperback copies of "Outlander" ! I forgot that I'd signed up for those.

Already working on getting them out to friends that would like to read it. If they are anything like me they will be "hooked" and purchase the rest of the series. btw... I took advantage of the free download for Kindle earlier in the year and read the whole series, am about to re-read it again after getting a signed copy of your 20th Anniversary Edition of Outlander. Thanks by the way, I'm a HUGE fan !!!

Dear Sandra--

[laughing] Well, that's a new one! My Dad's family certainly came from Spain--about 500 years ago. Settled in what then became New Mexico. (My mother's side is mostly English, from Yorkshire, with one German branch. My facial features come from that branch; I look very much like my German great-great-grandmother, though with my father's coloring. All of which causes people to think I'm a Native American. [g] (Not saying there _is_ no Native American in the mix, given the New Mexico connection, but if so, it could be anything from Azteca to Cheyenne, with Apache or Yaqui being the most likely.)

For the record, though, I was born in Williams, Arizona.

--Diana

Hi Diana;
Funny enough, my mom was very upset on the phone with me this morning (as if I were the publisher) because she cannot get her hands on FORASTERA which is the translation for OUTLANDER. It is out of print in Argentina. And listen to this one, they told her at a major bookstore that you were born in Spain! How about that?

Dear Sandra--

OUTLANDER has certainly been translated into Hebrew, because I've seen it. [g] (An Israeli friend tells me that title translates as "Not Kosher," which I thought was hilarious.)

And there _are_ Spanish editions, but the earlier ones are hard to find because they were done by a different publisher. We're hoping to get those rights back at some point, in order to make them easily available again.

--Diana
