I pre-ordered "The Exile" a couple of weeks ago and come September 21st I'll be rushing home from work to see if the postman has been with a package for me. As a treat to myself, I also ordered "The Outlandish Companion". Can't wait….

I just wanted to thank you for bringing back the joy of reading to me. I used to be an avid reader, but with raising four children and working full time, reading had somehow over the years got pushed to the background. One of my daughters gave me "The Outlander" last Christmas and since then I've read all seven "Outlanders", all the "Lord John" books, Sara Donati's "Wilderness" series, thanks to your recommendation (which I also loved) and numerous other random books. My children threaten me that they'll have to do an intervention!

Come to Toronto soon, we love you up here!

Nah, there's no conceivable way of doing something like that in the 18th century, believe me. [g] Implant technology and surgical skill quite aside, it's surgery in which infections are Very Serious, leading to limb amputations and/or death, and consequently, it's done in a laminar-flow room with _the_ highest standards of sterility. You'd never get close to that.

My summer project was to re-read the series from start to finish in one great reading. So, using my trusty Kindle I've downloaded each of the books and just finished up Echo in the Bone last night. The Lord John books arrived on my Kindle just a few minutes ago, you know to round out my reading! I know some authors & publishers are hesitant to release their books electronically, but I can say it's allowed me to own all your books in the printed form and electronically. Thanks again, and I'm looking forward to the further adventures of Jamie and Claire!
